N'Oatmeal for the Win

Move over smoothies! Cold days are here and they have been calling for nice, warms bowls of oatmeal with lots of cinnamon.

Lately I've been into making my oatmeal grain free and with this recipe I promise you actually won't even realize you aren't eating oats. I've been going all Goldilocks on this recipe and am so excited to share the one that was finally "just right" with you.

The recipe is super easy to make and it's full of health benefits.
To start, it is rich in skin loving healthy fats and plant based protein. It's also super fiber full, so not only will it keep your belly full for hours, but it is also an amazing digestion supporting meal.

On the go? No need for those sugar packed oatmeal packets. You can totally mix the dry stuff ahead of time and add the hot water and toppings when you're ready to eat. This is  way more nutritious!

So here it is! My super healthy, nutrient dense as heck, grain-free oatmeal.

Simply Nourishing Grain-free Oatmeal AKA N'Oatmeal

Recipe:

  • 3/4 cup of cashew milk (or milk of your choice)

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2 tbsp almond flour

  • 4 tbsp coconut flakes

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • a sprinkle of nutmeg

  • 1 (or 2) tbsp of maple syrup (you can use coconut sugar if your making the dry mix ahead of time)

Mix everything together in pot on stove top. Heat and stir.
Remove from heat, add your fave toppings and enjoy!

The toppings are the fun part! I've enjoyed this oatmeal with walnuts and blueberries as pictured above and with fresh figs and almond butter as pictured below. The versatility of this basic recipe is really endless, making it easy to enjoy often without getting bored.
